ADVANCING CANCER TREATMENT: STEM CELL THERAPIES AND BIOIMAGING INNOVATIONS
Keywords:
Cancer stem cells, Stem cell therapies, Tumor recurrence, Therapy resistanceAbstract
Cancer remains a significant challenge in modern medicine, with cancer stem cells (CSCs) representing a formidable obstacle due to their resistance to conventional therapies and their pivotal role in tumor recurrence. Recent advancements in stem cell therapies offer promising strategies for targeting CSCs and improving treatment efficacy. Moreover, the advent of state-of-the-art bioimaging technologies provides unprecedented insights into the behavior and characteristics of CSCs, facilitating more precise diagnosis and monitoring of therapeutic responses. This paper presents an overview of the latest developments in stem cell-based approaches for cancer treatment and underscores the transformative impact of innovative bioimaging techniques on our understanding of CSC biology. Through an exploration of fertilization, blastocyst formation, and stem cell differentiation potential, as well as an analysis of CSC traits and their interplay with epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT), this review illuminates critical pathways in tumor progression and drug discovery. By unraveling the complex dynamics within the tumor microenvironment and elucidating the mechanisms underlying CSC heterogeneity and therapy resistance, this work aims to propel the development of more effective cancer treatment strategies and address existing therapeutic challenges.
