1. Research Ethics & Scientific Integrity

Policy on Research Ethics: The Journal of Basic Sciences requires all submitted research to be conducted in accordance with the highest standards of ethical practice, following recognized international guidelines such as the Declaration of Helsinki and COPE guidelines. Authors must ensure their work complies with ethical principles, including informed consent, data protection, and the welfare of subjects. Research involving human or animal subjects must have received prior approval from appropriate ethical review boards. Manuscripts failing to meet these standards will be rejected.

Scientific Integrity: The journal upholds the highest standards of scientific integrity. All published articles must be the result of honest inquiry and original research. Any attempts to fabricate data, manipulate, or falsify results will be treated as a serious form of scientific misconduct.

2. Publisher & Editor Responsibilities

Ethical Roles of the Publisher:

The publisher (Alasmarya Islamic University) is committed to promoting the integrity of the academic record. It ensures transparency, fairness, and confidentiality in the publication process and supports the journal in handling allegations of misconduct.

Roles of the Editor:

The editor ensures the quality and credibility of the journal by selecting appropriate reviewers, making unbiased editorial decisions, maintaining confidentiality, and handling ethical concerns professionally while avoiding conflicts of interest.

3. Author & Reviewer Responsibilities

Roles of Reviewers:

Reviewers play a vital role and are expected to provide objective, constructive, and timely feedback. They must treat manuscripts as confidential, declare conflicts of interest, and report any suspected ethical violations.

Roles of Authors & Copyright:

Authors must submit original, unpublished work. They must accurately present their methodology, cite sources appropriately, and avoid plagiarism or data fabrication.

DOAJ Transparency Notice: In accordance with the journal's policy and DOAJ requirements, the copyright of all published articles is retained by the Journal of Basic Sciences.

4. Procedures for Handling Violations

If ethical misconduct is suspected or reported, the journal will follow the flowcharts and recommended procedures of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) for investigation. This may involve requesting explanations from authors, contacting their institutions, and taking actions such as corrections, retractions, or bans on future submissions. All cases will be handled confidentially and fairly.
