Reasons for Students' Absence from Attending Their Lectures and Its Relation to the University Professor's Teaching Methods

(A Field Study on a Sample of Students from the Faculty of Arts at Al-Asmarya Islamic University)

Abstract

This research aimed to know the reasons for students، absence from attending their lectures and its relationship to the teaching methods of the umiversity professor, The current research was limited to students of the faculty of Arts at the Asmarya  Islamic University. For the academic year 2024:2025AD, as the research community included all students of the Faculty of Arts at the Asmarya  Islamic University. The research relied on a sample of 63 students, randomly selected from all departments of the faculty of Arts at the Asmarya  Islamic University The research relied on a scale prepared by zahouri 2021 to collect data and information. The questionnaire consisted of two dimensions; the first dimension; the university professor`s teashing methods` and the second dimension; the university professor`s method of presenting the lecture. Lt consisted of 28 paragraphs and was presented to a group of specialists in the field of education and psychology, where some paragraphs were modified and were deleted. Depending on the arbitrators, the questionnaire was in its final formulation, containing 24 paragraphs that included two dimensions; the university professor`s method of presenting the lecture. The research reached the following results; Students of the Faculty of Arts at Al asmarya Islamic University agree that the most important reason for their absence from lectures is that a faculty member bullies some students and their academic achievement, and the course professor often goes out of his way
