Digital Empowerment and its Role in Academic Excellence among University Students.

(A field study on a sample of students at faculty of science, Asmarya University)

Abstract

This study aims to shed light on the role of digital empowerment in enhancing academic excellence among students of the Faculty of Science at Zliten University by assessing their level of digital skills, the applications they use, and the challenges they face. The results showed that students possess moderate to good skills in using the internet and basic digital tools but struggle with utilizing learning management platforms, in addition to facing challenges related to technical infrastructure and slow internet. The study concluded with the importance of providing training courses to improve students' digital empowerment and developing the technical infrastructure to support an integrated educational environment. Moreover, the study recommended raising digital awareness among students by integrating digital skills into the curriculum and encouraging student participation in using advanced digital tools that contribute to better time management and increased academic efficiency. The research helps to enhance understanding of the relationship between digital empwoerment and academic excellence and supports educational institutions' efforts to keep pace with the demands of the digital age.
