Psychological Compatibility and its Relationship to Relationship to Sexual Orientations for students of the Faculty of Science at Al-Asmarya Islamic University in Zliten

Abstract

The study aimed to identify the level of psychological compatibility and sexual attitudes among students of the Faculty of Science at Al-Asmariya University in Zliten .The study also aimed to identify the relationship between the two basic variables , and to identify the statistically significant differences in psychological compatibility  and sexual attitudes according to the gender variable among the sample members . The study included a community of 650 male and female students, 400 of whom were males and 250 of whom were females. The sample was selected randomly and with a representative percentage. The researcher followed the descriptive and correlational approach. The study also included a sample of 98 male and female students, 60 of whom were males and 38 were females. The results of the study showed that the level of psychological compatibility and the level of sexual attitudes among the sample members were average for both . The results of the study also showed that there is a statistically significant positive relationship between the dimension of the concept of sex and sexual relations, the dimension of personal compatibility, and the dimension of family compatibility.There is also a statistically significant positive relationship between the dimension of positive sexual thoughts and the dimension of family compatibility. The results also showed that there is a statistically significant positive relationship between the dimension of sexual beliefs and sexual relations and the dimension of personal adjustment. In general, it was found that there is a statistically significant positive relationship between sexual attitudes and psychological adjustment among student of the Faculty of Science at Al-Asmarya Islamic University in Zliten. The results also showed that there are statistically significant differences in the variable of the concept of sex and sexual relations among students of the Faculty of Science according to yhe gender variable in favor of females. There are also statistically significant differences in the variable of sexual attitudes among students of the Faculty of Science according to the gender variable in favor of females.
