THE USE OF UV-VISIBLE SPECTROSCOPY FOR THE DETERMINATION OF ACETAMINOPHEN CONTENT OF DIFFERENT BRANDS OF PARACETAMOL TABLETS

A simple and direct spectrophotometric method to determine the concentration of paracetamol in different pharmaceutical products is used. This method is based on dissolving tablets, which contain paracetamol as active ingredient, in the mixture of water and methanol (6:1), and those tablets were collected from different pharmacies around Zliten city. UV spectrometer was set at 247 nm to detect the absorption of paracetamol in both of prepared and in tablets. Beer҆ s law was applied to compare the concentration of lab made paracetamol and the paracetamol in the collected tablets.
