SYNTHESIS OF NICKEL AND COBALT COMPLEXES OF 6-THIOGUANOSINE AND ITS DERIVATE

الملخص

In this work, the complexes of nickel and cobalt ions with 6-thioguanosine (6-ThioGuoH) and 2’-deoxy-6-thioguanosine (2'-d-6-ThioGuoH) ligands were synthesized. The binding ratio of the ligands with nickel ion was shown to be two protonated ligands of 6-thioguanosine in thione form to one nickel, whilst in the case of the cobalt complex with 2’-deoxy-6-thioguanosine, the results suggested that the binding ratio was shown to be three deprotonated ligands in thiol form to one cobalt.In both cases, these ligands coordinate to metal ions through N7 and S6 forming a chelate ring. The characterisation of these complexes was carried out with MS, IR, 1H-NMR and elemental analysis
