Abstract

This study aims to attempt to reveal points of agreement, points of difference and approach between the two visions: the Islamic view and the Western vision towards the concept of "personal freedom" and its implications, goals and objectives.

Therefore, the study seeks to try to answer the following fundamental question:

• Does the Islamic view towards the concept and connotations of "personal freedom" converge with the Western view, or does it diverge from it? Are there any points of contact between the two visions, or are they two parallel lines that do not meet no matter how long they span?

Among the most important findings of the study are the following:

• There are general principles of personal freedom in which the Western view intersects with the Islamic vision, such as freedom of work and some aspects of family freedom, individual freedom of expression and religion ... and others.

-  There is a vast gap between the Islamic view and the Western vision regarding the source of personal freedom, its goals, objectives, borders ... and so on.

 -  Personal freedom in the Islamic vision does not only ask about its actions the individual who enjoys this freedom, but also asks the community why it did not provide it with all the care and attention so that the individual can perform the duties and costs he has.

-  Personal freedom unleashed it as much as it was created and invented in the field of science, also in the field of destroying the characteristics of human instinct, and the decline in modern man to the level of animal bestiality.
