مصادر المياه في شعبية مصراته الواقع والمأمول

بات واضحاً أن العالم بصورة عامة يعاني من قصور موارده المائية مقارنة بالطلب المتزايد على المياه في مختلف النشاطات الاقتصادية، فأهمية الدراسة تنبع من أهمية الماء، عصب الحياة. ومـا مصراتة إلا رقعة صغيرة من هذا العالم المترامي الأطراف، عانت وتعاني من قصور مشهود متواتر في مواردها المائية، فكان على الجغرافيين أن يدلوا بدلوهم، وأن يقدموا مساهمتهم في معالجة هذه المشكلة، في هذه المنطقة بالذات، علها تأتي بما يفيد منطقة الدراسة، والمناطق المشابهة.فقد قدرت حصص الموارد المائية في ليبيا سنة 1985 ف على النحو التالي:
المياه الجوفية 95.6 ٪، المياه السطحية 2.3 ٪، مياه التحلية 1.4 ٪، المياه المنقاة مياه الصرف الصحي 0.7 %(3). وفي منطقة الدراسـة قـدرت سنة 2000 م بحوالـي
49548750 م ُ سنوياً، في حين قدرت احتياجاتها بحوالي 61712817.2 م" سنوياً.
