Academic Problems Facing Faculty Members in the Faculties of Arts and Sciences at Al-Asmarya Islamic University from Their Point of View

Abstract

The aim of the research is to identify the academic problems which are facing the faculty members in the Faculties of Arts and Sciences at Alasmarya Islamic University  from their point of view. Also, to know the differences between the viewpoint of the faculty members about the academic problems which are facing according to the variables: gender, college, academic qualification, years of experience. To achieve that, the descriptive analytical approach, and the questionnaire tool are used. The research community consisted of (341) members, and the research sample was chosen by the stratified random method of 20%, where the sample in its final form reached to (63) members. The most important results of the research are: the faculty members complain by a very high degree of the academic problems which are facing, as the problems related to salary and incentive systems ranked first, while the problems related to students ranked last, and that there are no statistically significant differences in the academic problems which are facing according to the variables of gender, college, academic qualification, and years of experience except in the two dimensions of problems related to policies and administrative practices and problems related to the work environment where there were differences in favor of years of experience of 5-10 years with years of experience more than ten years. In light of previous results, the researchers recommended that, developing the possible solutions and trying to overcome the problems which are facing the faculty member.
