Some Personality Traits Prevalent among Faculty Members at the Faculty of Arts - Zliten And its Relationship to Some Variables

Abstract

The research aims to identify the level of personality traits and its relationship with the variables of, gender, age, and years of experience among the faculty members of the College of Arts at Alasmarya Islamic University. Also, it studies whether there is a correlation relationship between the personality traits of the study sample and the variables of, gender, age, and years of experience. The sample size consists of 39 teaching members. The descriptive approach was used to achieve the research goals. Eysenck’s Personality Traits Scale has been quoted from Dahlan K. K. (2007) and adapted to meet the Libyan environment as well as it has been tested for reliability and validity. The study revealed that teaching staff at Arts Faculty experiences a high level of personality traits. Besides, the findings showed that there is a statistically significant correlation at the level of (α ≤ 0.05) between personality traits and variables of sex, age, and years of experience. In addition, there are statistically significant differences between males and females on the scale of personality traits in favor of females at a significance level (α ≤ 0.05). Moreover, there are statistically significant differences between ages on the scale of personality traits in favor of the ages less than 30 - 49 at a significance level (α ≤ 0.05).
