Abstract

The study aimed to investigate the role of university study in acquiring some life skills for students of the Faculty of Arts at University of Misurata. A questionnaire was prepared from (36)-item distributed to four area: communication skill and communication with others, time management skill, decision-making skilland Solving problems skill weredistributed to (76) male and female students inat a rate of (24%) of the original community. Arithmetic means, standard deviations, relative weight and likely trend were calculated for each area of the study, as well as calculating the mean and standard deviation of the research sample scores According to the variables, the homogeneity of the variance in the two groups was tested,  the T-test for the significance of differences between the averages was determined and the one-way analysis of variance(Anova). The results of the study showed: The role of university study in acquiring some life skills among students came with partial availability of the study tool and its fields, and that there are no statistically significant differences for the role of university study in acquiring some life skills among students according to the gender variable,variables of specialization and the GPA. The study recommended integrating life skills into university curricula, making use of developed countries' programs in enhancing time management to benefit from available expertise and applying them in practice, assigning students to study their issues, presenting them in the form of a symposium or debate and linking them with an incentive reward for the best proposal that discusses and addresses the issue.
