Abstract

This research aims to identify the most important challenges facing scientific research in economic sciences, and to achieve the objectives of the research, the analytical descriptive method has been used, and the researcher has also used the questionnaire tool to collect the opinions of the study sample represented by (76) faculty members at Faculty of Economics at Misurata University and Elmergib University in the academic year (Spring 2020). The following are the most important results that have been reached: The faculty member faces difficulties and obstacles related to the availability of database and the information necessary to carry out the scientific research, and even if it is available, it is tainted by doubt and inaccuracy. The faculty member also faces difficulties and obstacles caused by the administration of the university or college in which he works in, due to lack of research hours and the academic burden, causing delay by the faculty member in preparing scientific research. One of the most important difficulties and obstacles facing a faculty member is related to the financial support for funding scientific research. The Study recommends: providing training courses for the faculty member, in line with the modern developments in the field of scientific research, providing accurate database and in format ion necessary for the completion of a scientific research, providing the suitable atmosphere for the faculty member by the University or Faculty Administration in which he works in, for preparing scientific researches, and providing financial support to the faculty member to fond scientific research.
