اثر التحول التاريخي على التحول الفراغي و الوظيفيي للبيئة الحضرية
دراسة عن نشو و تطور مدينة القاهرة ما قبل الاحتلال الفرنس 1798. (ترجمة وتعديل)

تدرس هذه الورقة تاثير التحول التاريخي على التحول الوظيفي و الفراغي, و تحديدا ثاتير توزيع المباني العامة على تحديد مركزالمنطقة التجارية و التغيير في نمط التركيبة الفراغية "للقاهرة" خلال المرحلة التاريخية الاولي لنشوها(641م - 1800م). تساعد الدراسة على فهم تاثير القرارات السياسية على التوزيع الوظيفي و التكوين الفراغي. تعتمد الدراسة على المنهج الكمي باستخدام نظرية الجملة الفراغية (Space Syntax) و تحديدا تقنية الخرائط المحورية Axial maps لاعادة تمثيل التركيبة الفراغية للمدينة لكل تحول تاريخي و وظيفي في المباني العامة. وللتحقيق في التشكل الوظيفي والمكاني, حددت ثلاث خرائط مورفولوجية تمثل المرحلة التاريخية الاولي مابين 1348م و 1798م لاحتواها لقمة التكوين الحضري للمرحلة التاريخية الاولى. تم تحويل الخرائط المورفولوجية الثلاثة إلى خرائط محورية و أضيفت عليها المباني العامة والمباني الدينية والمباني التجارية و المعالم المهمة للتحقيق من العلاقة بين التحول الوظيفي و الفراغي في كل مرحلة مورفولوجية ولوصف البنية النحوية للمدينة بمرحلتها التاريخية الاولي. الدراسة اوضحت ان مع كل أعادة توزيع للمباني العامة في كل مرحلة مورفولوجية يعقبه تغير في شكل و موقع المركز النحوي, المعرف بمجموعة الفراغات او الشوارع الاكثر اتصالا, والذي بدوره يعيد تعريف موقع نواة المركز التجاري وكذلك نمط الشكل الحضري على كل مستوياته
