THE LEVEL OF ADMINISTRATIVE PERFORMANCE AND DECISION-MAKING IN SOME SPORTS FEDERATIONS’ DEPARTMENTS IN TRIPOLI

Abstract

This study aimed to identify the ability and responsibility of administrators in sports federations to make the right decision, The researchers used the descriptive approach using the survey method, due to its suitability to the nature of the study, A random sample of heads and members of the boards of directors of some sports federations was selected, Through the final results, it was possible to know the level of administrative performance and decision-making in some sports federations’ administrations, which consists of (27) phrases representing three (3) axes: (the goal of the decision - obtaining sufficient information - to know all possible solutions "alternatives"), and each axis is represented by (8) phrases, The most important results for the axis of the goal of the decision were (2.50) with a percentage weight of (83%), which indicates that the sample members agree (very much) on the axis. Looking at the axis phrases, we note that the phrases of the administrative committee must set a philosophy and goal for each decision it makes, and the phrase of the ability to make an effective decision lies in fully understanding its goal, and as for the axis of obtaining sufficient information, one of the most important stages of the decision-making process for the administrative committee, and the phrase of the ease of the decision-making process depends on the abundance of information and data Available to the administrative committee, the phrase “the hesitation in making a decision is due to the lack of familiarity with all the information and data about the problem” was answered by the sample members with (strongly agree) where the weighted averages ranged between (2.39 to 2.56) with percentage weights ranging between (80% to 85%), while it was found that the sample members agreed to a lesser degree on only one phrase, which is the phrase “the administrative committee must obtain sufficient information about the subject on which the decision is to be made”, which had a weighted average of (2.33) with a percentage weight of (78%), and it was for the axis of knowing all possible solutions, which reached (2.39) with a percentage weight of (79%), indicating that the sample members agree (strongly) on the axis, and looking at the axis phrases, we note that the phrase “the administrative committee must be concerned when making decisions with making a list of possible alternatives and solutions that can be implemented”, and the phrase “the administrative committee must be concerned when making decisions with generating new ideas within a new framework and in light of the available information”, and the phrase “the administrative committee must be concerned when making decisions with comparing between the available alternatives and their significance”. To reach possible solutions, the phrase “modern technology must be used by the administrative committee to help find alternatives and possible solutions.”
