The level of awareness of secondary school students about the role of the psychological counselor in some secondary schools in the western branch in Zliten

Abstract

    The aim of the current research is to identify the level of awareness of secondary school students about  the role of the psychological guider in some secondary schools in Zliten. In addition to identifying the role of the psychological guider, and knowing the levels of differences in the level of secondary school students' awareness about  the role of the psychological guider, with according to the gender and the specialization variable.The research sample consisted of (111) male and female students.  The researcher used the scale of student awareness about the role of the psychological guider, prepared by the researcher Sami Abdel Fattah Salhab (2007), and the researcher re-codified it on the Libyan environment to extract its honesty and reliability.

The research results are as follows:

1. The level of awareness of secondary school students about the role of psychological guider is very weak.
2. The role of the psychological guider is limited to carrying out administrative work only, and this is illustrated by the dimensional results.
3. There are no statistically significant differences on the awareness' scale of the secondary school students about the role of psychological guider for some secondary schools in the western region in Zliten due to the gender variable.
4. There are no statistically significant differences on the awareness' scale of the secondary school students about the role of the psychological guider for some secondary schools in the western region in Zliten according to the specialization variable.
