The role of faculty members in the Department of Information Faculty of Arts _ University of Asmara in promoting the culture of dialogue among students from the perspective of their students

Abstract

This study covers an important trend of the major educational institutions towards establishing a culture of dialogue and an important factor in its success in achieving its basic objectives, which is the role played by academics in promoting and developing the culture of dialogue among students. To educate students on the culture of peaceful civilized dialogue, especially that the Department of Information aims to raise the level of the media profession by motivating young students from the media departments to Innovate each in his field of specialization and create opportunities for them to present their ideas and talents by presenting their production and creations to experts and colleagues within their corridors. The problem of the study was identified in the following key question: What is the role of the faculty members of the Department of Mass Communication at the Faculty of Arts at the University of Asmara in promoting the culture of dialogue among students from the perspective of their students? It emerges from several sub-questions: What is the extent of the faculty members of the Department of Information Faculty of Arts at the University of Asmaria in promoting the culture of dialogue among students from the perspective of their students? Are there any statistically significant differences between the sample estimates of the current study of the role of faculty members in the Department of Information, Faculty of Arts, University of Asmara in promoting the culture of dialogue among students due to the variable of sex (males _ females)? This study aims at identifying the role of faculty members in the media department at the faculty of arts in the faculty of arts in promoting the culture of dialogue among their students from the point of view of their students. For the gender variable (males and females). This study was conducted on the students of the Department of Information, Faculty of Arts, the University of Asmara Zliten and the number (80) (70 students), and (10 students) for the university semester 'spring 2018'. The study found that the faculty members of the Department of Information at the Faculty of Arts at the University of Asmara differ in several important aspects to promote a culture of dialogue among students, and this is attributed to a gap in the relationship between faculty members and their students, as well as the use of faculty members traditional methods of teaching, which is in A lecture that does not encourage dialogue between the professor and his students. There were also no statistically significant differences between the study sample estimates of the role of faculty members in the Department of Information, Faculty of Arts, University of Asmara in promoting the culture of dialogue among students due to the gender variable.
