SOME FACTORS LEADING TO DELAYED MARRIAGE AMONG LIBYAN YOUTH

FROM THE POINT OF VIEW OF FACULTY MEMBERS AT THE FACULTY OF SCIENCE AT ASMARIYA ISLAMIC UNIVERSITY

Abstract

The researcher discussed some of the factors leading to delayed marriage among Libyan youth from the point of view of faculty members at the Faculty of Science at Asmariya Islamic University. This study aimed to identify the most important factors leading to delayed marriage among Libyan youth in the city of Zliten and to know the extent of the impact of the economic and social situation and the role played by the level of marriage. Educational impact on delaying the age of marriage, as it was shown through the presentation of some previous studies that are related to the subject of the current study on the role of some social and economic factors, as well as education and income, on delaying the age of marriage for the youth group. In this study, the researcher used the descriptive approach to collect data and facts related to the subject of the study. The researcher designed a questionnaire that contained (23) questions, distributed to the respondents. Many results were reached, including that economic factors, including the high costs of marriage and high dowries, have the greatest role in delaying the age of marriage among young people from the point of view of faculty members at the College. Sciences at the Asmariya Islamic University, followed by social factors and then the educational level have a role in delaying the age of marriage. The researcher recommends the need to pay attention to the youth group because of its effective role in society, and to help them obtain work and suitable housing and support them by all means to reduce the phenomenon of delaying the age of marriage.
