Self Archiving

The Journal of Economic and Political Sciences supports open knowledge dissemination and encourages authors to self-archive their research responsibly. This policy outlines the terms under which authors may share versions of their articles while preserving academic integrity and respecting the Creative Commons (CC BY 4.0) regulations.

Policy Purpose: To increase the visibility and reach of published research, support open access principles, and encourage wider academic citation.

1. Definition & Acceptable Platforms

Self-archiving refers to depositing a version of a research article to allow public access. Authors are permitted to archive their articles on:

  • Institutional repositories (e.g., university archives).
  • Subject-specific repositories (e.g., SSRN, RePEc, arXiv).
  • Academic social networks (e.g., ResearchGate, Academia.edu).
  • Personal academic websites and open-access databases.
2. Permitted Versions for Archiving
  • Preprint (Before peer review): Allowed without restriction. A disclaimer stating it is unreviewed must be added.
  • Postprint (Peer-reviewed, pre-typesetting): Allowed after acceptance, with clear citation of the acceptance date and journal source.
  • Version of Record (Final published article): Allowed post-publication. Requires proper citation, DOI link, and license notice.
3. Conditions & Copyright
  • Cite the original source as the Journal of Economic and Political Sciences.
  • Provide a direct link to the officially published version.
  • The final published version must not be modified or reformatted.

* Copyright is retained by the Journal. However, authors retain full self-archiving rights under the (CC BY 4.0) license.

4. Policy Review

This policy is reviewed biennially or as needed to reflect updates to international open access and self-archiving standards.
