The Policy of Ethical Roles and Responsibilities of the Publisher
As the official publisher of the Journal of Economic and Political Sciences, Alasmarya Islamic University acknowledges its fundamental ethical responsibility to safeguard the integrity, transparency, and academic rigor of the academic publishing process. In alignment with international ethical standards and best practices outlined by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the following roles and responsibilities are assumed by the University in its capacity as publisher:
The publisher supports the complete academic and editorial independence of the editorial board. Decisions are made based on academic merit, free from commercial, political, or institutional influences.
2. Integrity of the Academic RecordThe University ensures long-term preservation of scholarly content and supports the transparent issuance of retractions, corrections, or expressions of concern when necessary.
The publisher provides clear guidelines to promote ethical behavior, including:
- Prevention of plagiarism and unethical authorship.
- Ensuring proper peer review mechanisms are upheld.
- Protecting confidentiality during peer review.
- Addressing conflicts of interest appropriately.
The publisher maintains public policies on authorship, data availability, funding, and conflicts of interest. Manuscripts are evaluated for originality and scientific rigor.
5. Responsiveness to MisconductIn cases of proven scientific misconduct, the publisher works with the editorial board to take prompt action, which may include corrections, retractions, or legal measures.
Ensuring published content is accessible through reliable digital platforms and archived for long-term availability.
7. Ethical Research CultureAdvocating for a research environment that values honesty, accountability, respect, and fairness.
8. International StandardsAdhering to the standards of indexing bodies such as Scopus and continuously updating practices.
