Data Sharing Policy
The Journal of Economic and Political Sciences recognizes the importance of data sharing in promoting transparency, reproducibility, and accountability in scholarly research. This policy aims to guide authors toward responsible and ethical data-sharing practices.
Policy Scope: Applies to all manuscripts that involve original datasets, including quantitative/qualitative data, images, recordings, code, and statistical models.
Authors are strongly encouraged to make the datasets supporting their findings available. Authors must specify:
- The repository and access link (direct link or DOI).
- Any applicable license or reuse conditions.
- If data sharing is not possible due to legal/ethical constraints, reasons must be clearly stated.
Authors should use recognized and reliable platforms such as:
- Zenodo, Figshare, Dryad
- Institutional or Subject-specific Repositories
Or any platform adhering strictly to the FAIR principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable).
Authors are required to include a "Data Availability Statement" at the end of their article. Examples:
“The dataset used in this study is available in Zenodo at: [DOI link].”
“Data cannot be shared due to participant confidentiality restrictions.”
- Authors must anonymize all sensitive personal data before publication.
- Authors must not share third-party data without explicit written permission.
- Compliance with data protection laws (e.g., GDPR) is mandatory.
- Authors are encouraged to use open licenses (e.g., CC BY 4.0).
- Misuse of shared data for commercial or harmful purposes is strictly prohibited.
- This policy is reviewed biannually to reflect changes in global standards.
