Publishing Terms
As part of the submission process, authors must ensure that their manuscript meets all publication requirements set by the journal. Submissions that do not comply with these guidelines may be returned to the authors. These guidelines are organized into the following sections:
First: Publication Requirements
Submitted research papers must meet the following criteria:
- Manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under review elsewhere. They should be innovative, academically rigorous, and address relevant issues within the journal’s scope. Submissions should offer a valuable contribution to their field and demonstrate depth, originality, and scientific integrity. Researchers must avoid defamatory language or personal attacks.
- Papers must adhere to the principles of scientific research, using and citing sources accurately and consistently. Supplementary materials such as maps or tables must be submitted in their original form.
- The corresponding author is fully responsible for the accuracy of all names listed on the manuscript and must submit a written declaration confirming the paper’s originality and non-submission elsewhere.
- Manuscripts submitted to the Journal of Marine Sciences and Environmental Technologies must not be submitted to another journal unless officially rejected by this journal, with written confirmation provided by the Editor-in-Chief.
- Authors will be notified of the peer-review outcome within 1–2 months. Accepted papers are subject to the journal’s editorial scheduling and formatting policies.
- The journal accepts submissions in Arabic or English. A summary in the alternative language must be included.
- Submissions should be formatted using the official journal template (Word format) and submitted via the journal’s submission system or email.
- The first page must include the title in both Arabic and English, author names, affiliations, and the corresponding author’s email. An abstract in both languages (not exceeding one page) must be provided.
- Manuscripts should not exceed 20 pages, including tables, figures, and references.
- All submissions must adhere to the journal’s scientific, academic, and ethical standards.
- Sources must be properly cited with full academic honesty.
- The overall similarity index, including references, must not exceed 20%. Misrepresentation of facts or misleading content will not be accepted.
- Upon acceptance, all copyright for the paper is transferred to the journal, as agreed in the signed copyright statement submitted by the corresponding author.
Second: Manuscript Preparation Requirements
Manuscripts are evaluated based on originality, methodology, results, and scientific contribution. Authors must adhere to the following structure and preparation guidelines:
- The standard structure includes: Title, Author(s) and Affiliation(s), Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Methodology, Results, Discussion, Conclusion, and References.
- Submissions must be in Microsoft Word format. Arabic manuscripts should use Simplified Arabic font, while English manuscripts should use Times New Roman. Margins and formatting must follow the journal template.
- Manuscripts must use the APA citation style.
- Submissions must meet rigorous scientific standards and comply with the published writing guidelines.
- Authors must provide evidence of all required legal permissions and licenses for the use of tools, software, documents, or materials upon request.
- For research involving identifiable participants (including images or video), written consent must be obtained and a declaration of such consent must appear in the manuscript. Supporting documents must be made available to the editor upon request and will be treated confidentially.
- Scientific integrity: Authors must provide accurate descriptions of the work and objectively discuss its significance. All essential data should be presented with sufficient detail and references to enable reproducibility. Intentional misrepresentation or falsification of data is considered unethical and unacceptable.
- Authors must ensure that all content is original. Proper credit must be given when using the work or words of others.
- Reproduction of copyrighted materials (e.g., data, tables, figures, extended quotes) requires appropriate permission and acknowledgment.
- Authors using AI-assisted technologies in drafting their manuscripts must limit AI use to language improvement and stylistic clarity. Human oversight is essential, and authors bear full responsibility for the final content.
- For transparency and ethical compliance, authors must clearly disclose within the manuscript any use of AI applications in the writing process.
The journal evaluates manuscript integrity using the Similarity Check tool powered by iThenticate. The overall similarity index must not exceed 20%, including the references.
