Journal of Marine Sciences and Environmental Technologies (JMSET)

Regular Publication Schedule

The Journal of Marine Sciences and Environmental Technologies (JMSET) publishes two regular issues annually according to the following schedule:

Regular Issue

Issue 1: June

Regular Issue

Issue 2: December

Each annual volume normally consists of two regular issues. JMSET is committed to maintaining its announced publication schedule and assigning each published article to the appropriate volume and issue.

The publication of a special issue, supplementary issue, or thematic collection does not replace or alter the journal’s regular June and December issues.

Continuous Article Publishing

JMSET follows a continuous article publishing model within the current issue .

Accepted articles are published online as the final Version of Record after completing all required editorial and production stages, without waiting for all other articles assigned to the issue to be completed.

Articles published continuously are assigned to the current volume and incorporated into the relevant June or December issue. The current issue remains open for the addition of completed articles until it is formally closed in accordance with the journal’s publication schedule.

This publishing model supports the timely dissemination of completed articles while preserving the journal’s regular volume and issue structure. It allows articles to be published when they are ready rather than delaying publication until the entire issue has been completed.

Detailed editorial, peer-review, and production procedures are provided in the journal’s Editorial and Publishing Process and Peer Review Policy .

Official Publication Date

The date displayed on the article page represents the official online publication date of the published Version of Record.

The submission, revision, and acceptance dates are recorded separately and are not considered publication dates.

An article is considered formally published only when its final Version of Record has been made publicly available through the journal’s electronic platform.

The official online publication date is used in the article’s citation, bibliographic record, and metadata.

Special Issues

In addition to its two regular annual issues, JMSET may publish special issues devoted to focused, timely, or emerging subjects that fall clearly within the journal’s aims and scope.

Special issues are supplementary to the regular publication schedule and do not replace the issues published in June and December.

Publication Formats

A special issue may be published as:

  • A separately identified issue within the current volume
  • A supplementary issue
  • A thematic collection of continuously published articles

Core Requirements

Each special issue must have:

  • A clearly defined academic purpose
  • A coherent and relevant theme
  • An approved scope
  • Appropriate editorial oversight
  • Clear bibliographic identification

Articles submitted to special issues are subject to the same scientific, editorial, ethical, and peer-review requirements as articles submitted to regular issues. Submission to a special issue does not guarantee acceptance or publication.

JMSET may appoint qualified Guest Editors to support the academic coordination of a special issue. The Editor-in-Chief and the journal’s authorized editorial leadership retain responsibility for editorial oversight and final decisions.

Detailed requirements concerning special-issue proposals, Guest Editors, editorial oversight, conflicts of interest, conference-related content, funding, and sponsorship are provided in the journal’s Special Issue Policy .

Schedule Commitment and Changes

JMSET is committed to maintaining its regular publication schedule and completing each issue in a timely and responsible manner.

The journal does not compromise its scientific, editorial, ethical, or publishing requirements to meet a provisional publication date.

The time required to process and publish an individual article may vary according to its review and revision requirements, the authors’ response time, and the applicable editorial and production needs. JMSET does not guarantee a fixed acceptance or publication period unless a specific timeframe has been formally announced.

Exceptional Circumstances

If exceptional circumstances affect the scheduled completion of a regular or special issue, the journal may publish an appropriate notice explaining any significant change.

Formal Schedule Changes

Any formal change to the journal’s:

  • Publication frequency
  • Regular issue schedule
  • Continuous article publishing model

will be announced clearly on the journal website.

A delay, revision, postponement, or cancellation affecting a special issue does not automatically alter the publication schedule of the regular June and December issues.
