Journal Overview
The Journal of Marine Sciences and Environmental Technologies (JMSET) is an international, peer-reviewed scholarly journal published by the Faculty of Marine Resources, Alasmarya Islamic University (AIU), Libya .
JMSET was established in 2015 pursuant to Alasmarya Islamic University Council Resolution No. 253 of 2015. Its first issue was published in June 2015. The journal publishes two regular issues annually, in June and December, in print and electronic formats.
JMSET provides an interdisciplinary platform for publishing and disseminating original scholarly research in marine sciences, marine engineering, environmental sciences, environmental technologies, and related fields. The journal accepts scholarly contributions in Arabic and English.
JMSET is committed to scientific rigor, editorial independence, research integrity, ethical publishing, and responsible scholarly communication. The journal supports research that contributes to the sustainable management and protection of marine and environmental resources and provides evidence-based responses to contemporary scientific, technological, and environmental challenges.

Editorial and Publishing Principles
JMSET conducts its editorial and publishing activities in accordance with the principles of scientific quality, editorial independence, research integrity, transparency, fairness, confidentiality, accountability, and responsible scholarly publishing.
Submitted manuscripts undergo an initial editorial assessment to determine their relevance to the journal’s aims and scope, originality, scholarly and methodological quality, ethical acceptability, and compliance with submission requirements. Eligible manuscripts that pass this assessment are normally evaluated by at least two independent experts under a double-blind peer-review model.
JMSET operates under a Diamond Open Access publishing model and does not charge submission fees, article processing charges, publication fees, subscription fees, or reader access charges. All published articles are freely and immediately accessible upon publication.
The journal publishes two regular issues annually, in June and December, and follows a continuous article publishing model within the current issue . Accepted manuscripts are published online as the final Version of Record after completing all required editorial and production stages.
Authors retain copyright in their published work and grant JMSET a non-exclusive license to publish, reproduce, distribute, archive, preserve, index, and make the work publicly available. Articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC 4.0) .
