Journal of Marine Sciences and Environmental Technologies (JMSET)

Establishment of the Journal

The Journal of Marine Sciences and Environmental Technologies (JMSET) was established in 2015 pursuant to Alasmarya Islamic University Council Resolution No. 253 of 2015.

The journal was founded as part of the University’s commitment to supporting scientific research, scholarly communication, and the dissemination of knowledge in marine sciences, marine engineering, environmental sciences, environmental technologies, and related interdisciplinary fields.

The Faculty of Marine Resources, Alasmarya Islamic University , assumed responsibility for publishing JMSET and developing it as a specialized academic platform serving researchers, academics, professionals, and institutions working in marine and environmental fields.

The first issue of JMSET was published in June 2015.

Journal Development

Editorial and Institutional Development

Articles submitted to JMSET undergo an initial editorial assessment to determine their relevance to the journal’s aims and scope, originality, scholarly and methodological quality, ethical acceptability, and compliance with submission requirements.

Eligible articles that pass the initial editorial assessment are normally evaluated by at least two independent experts under a double-blind peer-review model .

The publisher supports the journal’s administration, publishing infrastructure, and scholarly communication activities while respecting its editorial independence. Editorial decisions are based on scholarly merit, originality, methodological soundness, ethical compliance, significance, and relevance to the journal’s aims and scope.

Print, Electronic, and Continuous Publishing

JMSET publishes in print and electronic formats and has made its journal information and scholarly content available in Arabic and English since its establishment.

The journal follows a continuous article publishing model within the current issue . Following acceptance, articles complete all required editorial and production stages before being published online as the final Version of Record.

Each published article receives:

  • An official online publication date
  • A volume and issue number
  • A Digital Object Identifier
  • A page range or article identifier, as applicable
  • Complete citation information and article-level metadata
Articles published continuously are incorporated into the relevant regular issue scheduled for June or December. The date displayed on the article page represents the official online publication date of the Version of Record.

Open Access Development

As part of its publishing development, JMSET adopted an open-access approach to support the free dissemination and responsible reuse of scholarly knowledge.
