Difficulties Facing Post Graduate Students At The Libyan Academy Janzour

Abstract

The research aimed to identify the difficulties facing postgraduate students at the Libyan Academy, Janzour, from their point of view, and to know the differences in these difficulties according to the variable of gender and department. To achieve the objectives of the research, the descriptive analytical method was used as the appropriate method for such research. The research community was (98) A master’s graduate student in the Department of Psychology, Islamic Studies, Sociology, and English Language at the Libyan Academy, Janzour. A random sample of (26) male and female students was selected from them. A questionnaire prepared by IyaedZakiAkl (2005) was used. The results of the research showed that among the most important difficulties facing graduate students are the weakness of academic performance of some lecturers, weak cooperation between the graduate studies supervisor and students, weak use of research results in development and improvement, not giving students the opportunity to participate in setting the time for lectures and exams, and weak interest in social problems that arise. Some students suffer from it, including the high cost of books and references, anxiety when the date of defending the master’s thesis approaches, and weak motivation to study after success in theoretical courses. The results also showed that there are no statistically significant differences at the significance level (0.001) between male and female students due to the homogeneity of the community members. There are no statistically significant differences at the level of significance (0.001) between the sample members according to the department variable. The researcher recommends the following: taking advantage of modern technology, applying distance learning for those whose circumstances do not help them to attend, motivating graduate students who are distinguished scientifically and morally, and holding meetings. A periodic period between the Deanship of Graduate Studies and graduate students to discuss their needs and problems.
