Abstract

The study aims to identify the most appropriate spatial pattern of future land use according to the identification of requirements, preferences, or predictions of some activities such as agricultural planning and agricultural development. It also aims to know the quantitative and qualitative assessment of the extent to which the lands of the study area are suitable for the cultivation of vineyards and citrus fruits in the future, by means of multi-criteria evaluation (MCE), and two approaches were adopted to determine this: One is descriptive and analytical with two inputs (original and regional), and the other is applied; their purpose is to achieve the objectives of studying the natural conditions that affect the cultivation of grape and citrus trees in the study area in the future, and the extent of knowing the best lands suitable for the possibilities of horizontal expansion of the areas that will be planted with such agricultural crops. Highlighting the geographical features that characterize the study area, which distinguish it from its neighboring agricultural regions, in terms of its natural features, its impact on the exploitation of its current agricultural resources, and its future forecasting. The study concluded that the best places suitable for the future cultivation of grapes and citrus fruits appeared in its northeastern and central lands until the irrigated lands in Majer, which is the most agriculturally diverse locality.
