The Italian invasion of Libya is considered one of the most important phases in the modern and contemporary history of Libya in particular and the Islamic world in general. It was the result of international and local circumstances that went beyond the relationship between Italy and Tripoli the West, which was affiliated with the Ottoman Empire, which carried, with this dependency, the responsibility of defending this state. This study aimed to present and analyzing a historical document from the “Al-Zawiya Al-Asmariya” archive that documented the visit of Prince Ali, Prince Abdul Qadir Al-Jazaery’s son, sent by the Ottoman Sultan “Muhammad Rashad V” to the people of Zliten, inciting them to fight the Italians. The researchers followed the historical method based on description, narration and analysis. The study concluded many results, most notably that the Ottoman Sultan was interested in supporting the Mujahideen and that the city of Zliten was an important station for the events of that stage.
