Among The Notables and Scholars of Zliten: "Rahuma Al-Sari" Died in 1366 AH - 1946 A.D

Zliten has been known throughout history for the abundance of its scholars and jurisprudence with broad knowledge and authorship. The Library shelves were full of their publications in all different sciences. Among the scholars of this country, and the most prominent, Sheikh "Rahuma Al-Sari". He got educated under the supervision of his uncle, Sheikh Ali Al-Sari, Sheikh Abdul Hafeez bin Mohsen, Sheikh Muftah bin Zahia, and other scholars from Zliten. Then, he travelled to Medina and settled there for a time, where he studied hadith, interpretation, and Sharia, its origins, branches, hadith, interpretation, and intonation. Furthermore, during his return to Zliten, he was chosen as a teacher at the Abu Machete Mosque 1328 AH - 1911 AD and was an imam and preacher. The Sheikh’s role was not limited to lessons and sermons. Rather, he was one of the supporters of jihad and instigators in mosques and gatherings during the Italian occupation of Tripoli in 1328 AH / 1911.
In the year 1339 AH / 1922 AD, the national government entrusted him with the function of the Sharia judiciary over Zliten, so he was a higher example of integrity and the application of justice. In 1341 H (1924 AD), he was arrested and transferred to a prison in Tripoli, where he was sentenced to life imprisonment with the confiscation of his property. During his prison stay, he gave lessons and wrote many books and letters that will be mentioned in this study.
Ten years later, the Sheikh was released and returned to his country Zliten, where he was appointed as a teacher in the atheneum of Sheikh Al-Zarooq in Misrata for three years. Then, he returned to his hometown, Zliten, and was appointed Sheikh in the atheneum of Sheikh Abdul Salam Al-Asmar, until he passed away on the night of Monday, the fifth of Rabi` al-Awwal 1366 AH /1946 AD. , at the age of eighty
