This study evaluated the antibacterial properties of commercial and natural extracts, specifically clove powder and Ganoderma lucidum, against Staphylococcus aureus and Klebsiella pneumoniae, using samples from Zliten medical center. The extracts were applied using the well diffusion method on Petri dishes. The results showed a significant antibacterial effect, particularly from clove powder. For Klebsiella pneumoniae, the inhibition percentages for alcoholic extracts were 1.8%, 12%, 28%, and 46.8%, while aqueous extracts showed 1.7%, 10%, 6.8%, and 36%. For Staphylococcus aureus, the inhibition percentages for alcoholic extracts were 2%, 21%, 21%, and 36%, compared to 2.4%, 13%, 21%, and 28.8% for aqueous extracts. In contrast, Ganoderma lucidum extracts showed no significant inhibitory effect on either bacterial species across different concentrations, although this does not rule out potential inhibitory effects on other bacterial strains.
