Prominent Libyan Figures in Documentation

Abstract

  Libyan sheikhs have played a significant role in preserving rights and transactions. This research aims to highlight the science of documentation and the efforts of Libyan sheikhs in this field, given the limited attention given to studying this topic despite its importance Its great importance in preserving people's rights and transactions. In this paper, I followed the historical inductive method, by examining and tracing the careers of prominent Libyan figures in the field of documentation, and through the research, I arrived at a set of results, the most important of which are:The notary must possess a fundamental quality, namely justice, and must meet the required professional, academic, and ethical standards. Many prominent Libyan sheikhs and scholars emerged in the field of notarization, to whom people referred in their transactions and legal matters to safeguard their rights. This research examines three of the most prominent of these scholars:Ahmad al-Amawi al-Tajuri (d. 708 AH), Muhammad ibn Muhammad al-Dufani (d. 1996 AD), and Muhammad al-Mahdi Abu Ajila (d. 2004 AD), highlighting the role of each of them in documentation.
