This research paper addresses the issue of immunity granted to national military contingents in UN peacekeeping missions، highlighting the tension between the necessity of immunity to ensure the missions' effectiveness and independence and the pressing need for justice and victim redress. The study examines the legal framework governing immunity، analyzes accountability and compensation mechanisms، and proposes recommendations to enhance accountability and guarantee justice for victims. It employs a legal analytical methodology with case studies، focusing on complex incidents such as the Haiti cholera outbreak and sexual exploitation in the Central African Republic. The paper concludes by emphasizing the need to revise existing immunity frameworks and establish alternative judicial mechanisms to achieve justice.
